Bio
Andy Oram has been an editor at O'Reilly Media since 1992, where his
focus on open source and the phenomonon of peer production has led him
to look for parallel opportunities in publishing. As an editor, he
spearheaded the O'Reilly Linux series and produced a number of other
prominent books in the computer field, including Peer to Peer,
Producing Open Source Software, Mastering Regular Expressions, and
Beautiful Code.

Since 2004 Andy has been conducting research about educational efforts
among communities of computer programmers and users. His articles on
the topic appear at http://www.praxagora.com/community_documentation.

Andy is also a member of Computer Professionals for Social
Responsibility and writes often for O'Reilly web sites such as Radar
and other publications. His topics include policy issues related to
the Internet and trends affecting technical innovation and its effects
on society. He twitters as @praxagora, and participates grudgingly on Facebook and LinkedIn.
